Amityville: The Awakening begins when a single mother and her children move into a new house. Belle, the oldest daughter, has a little sister and a twin brother who is in a coma after an accident which spurred the family to move into a new house to afford the medical expenses of her brother.

Shortly after moving in, the family begins to experience strange supernatural occurrences. These lead Belle to believe that the house has a secret past, who finds out from her mother that they moved into the infamous Amityville house.
