Strangeland

“Strangeland,” starring Dee Snider as Captain Howdy, and Linda Cardellini as Genevieve Gage is a dark and torture some film. Enduring as much pain as one can possibly take, would be the best to describe the darkness in this film. Genevieve is a fifteen year old girl curious about the internet, and she then begins going to a chat room and meeting Captain Howdy. Captain Howdy is otherwise known in real life as Carleton Hendricks. It isn’t until Genevieve goes missing that her father, a local cop named Mike Gage, (played by Kevin Gage), is not going to give up on finding his daughter. As Mikes daughter is slowly tortured in the ways of Captain Howdy, there is no telling if she will be able to overcome the pain that he will give to her. The film is unsettling because over twenty percent of our youth are killed do to online circumstances; such as sexually assaulted, killed, or both, from predators online.
